Around that time, the freedom struggle was gaining a lot of momentum. Gandhiji presided over the Provincial Political Conference organized by the Gujarat Sabha, where he met Sardar Patel. After coming in touch with Gandhiji, Sardar became a staunch follower of Ganhiji. He was appointed as one of the secretaries of the Conference where Ganhiji became the President.
