Blood donation drive at MSRIT

The Morning of 25th april saw the students of MSRIT join hands with us yet another time in our efforts to maintain the stocks of MSR blood bank.

The 12th camp in MSRIT started at 10.30am and went on till 1.30 pm. The response in the first half was low, but slowly donors started coming in and registering in the second half.In all, 19 people registered out of which 15 donated. The reason for low turn out was due to the fact that the camp was held on saturday.Since the initial respone was poor, announcements were not only made in classes but was also made in canteens.

Though the number was low it was a very well managed camp, with no faintings and each donor was taken care of very well. The pre and post donation cares were made very clear to the donors and the donors returned satisfied and proud.

Out of the 19 students registered 17 of them registered for being emergency donors and 14 of them registered for being apheresis donors. This is very encouraging and is helping us build a good data base.

Some of the short comings have been noted and necessary measures are being taken.
