The fresh batch of students has arrived at IISc and it was time for Sankalp to bring them into the organization. IISc students have always been very keen in helping out the people in emergencies. And this fact keeps the Sankalp Volunteers very keen on having more of them join the organization. Last year after Sankalp recruited Voluntary Blood Donors from IISc, the best thing that happened was the formation of a fabulous Volunteer Team. We came up with IISc- Sankalp wing which actively promoted
Sankalp activities within IISc. The hard work the new Volunteers had put in last year also expected to get equally enthusiastic Volunteers this year to keep it going. The drive to recruit the 1st year students finally happened from 05 to 07 September, 2007. Daily one mess was chose and all the 1st years coming to dine there were made aware about the Sankalp Activities.Volunteers spoke to people and resolved their queries. The people who were interested in joining in as Volunteers also enrolled on the occasion. And all the hard work that was put in gave fabulous results. In all 345 people joined in as new donors.
Next thing will be to get the new Volunteer team at IISc ready for action and train them to get the mini blood donation drives kicked started. Database will be prepared in parallel. Sankalp-IISc wing is poised to tackle on the challenge mete out by persistent blood shortage.
