Blood Donation Scenario in the city is changing Radically. From isolation to association, from confrontation to co-operation, each person related to the blood lifeline of Bangalore is seeing a new era in Blood Banking.
This era is also promising to all greater citizen participation in Blood Transfusion. Donors re being given the hot seat and they are choosing what they want from the blood donation service.
In these times, We are glad to invite all you Life Savers to the "World Blood Donor Day" Programme. This programme is being organized at M S R Memorial Hospitals on 14th June 2007.
Internationally this day is an occasion to celebrate the Spirit of Voluntary Blood Donation. This is one day in the year when we thank the Blood Donors for giving away the gift of life.
Also, this day is an occasion for all of us to come and be stakeholders in the bigger blood scenario. Come on this one day and see how you can participate in Making Bangalore a 100% Voluntary Blood Donation based city.
Please join in the celebration!
Cheers!

Although all reports indicate that the city is running at possibly the lowest levels of stocks for certain blood components, it is not that Sankalp is just complaining about it. Over the 2 month period from June 2010 to July 2010, Sankalp organised multiple blood donation drives with more than 1100 units of blood being collected. A million thanks to all the organisers and donors for standing up to the challenge. Here is a brief note on all the various camps held with different organisations.
The dengue infections have reached their peak in Bangalore. We have scores of patients around the city receiving treatment for the same. A direct impact of this is the increase in workload of the Sankalp Emergency Team.
