Mawlynnong is the cleanest village in Asia. The village is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The road leading up to Mawlynnong has some of the most panoramic and breathtaking views in the country. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village.
Changu Lake
Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim, India, some 40 kilometres (25 mi) away from Gangtok at altitude of 3,780 m (12,400 ft).The lake is about 1 km. Long, oval in shape, 15 meters deep and is considered sacred by the local people. The lake has charming Alpine forests, which is home to some rare animals like the Red Panda, Brahminy ducks and variety of birds.
