When there is a talk in town about student's participation in Blood Donation, the name of MSRIT is taken with warmth and high regards. This organization has over the past few years nurtured your men and women who have gone into revolutionizing the way blood donation works in Bangalore. 4th April wan another very special day in MSRIT when yet another blood donation drive was organized. As a part of the chain of small blood donation drives that the college is organizing to ensure regular supply of blood to the blood banks, this drive again went on to fulfil the set target of getting 25-30 life savers to share the gift of life. The number of donations done were 27. The good thing was to see the few negative blood group donors also donate blood
A great care was given in testing area for eligibility for blood donation. This led to no faintings. 6 donors were rejected due to less haemoglobin, surgery,etc.. The volunteers approached classes and informed the students about the camp and gave them motivational talks. Most of the students responded well and were ready to donate. Donor card was given to all the donors to keep track of their donation. This was a new concept introduced by Sankalp and was well received by the donors.
Donors were really happy to see this blood donation camp. Many first time donors came to donate and got motivated to donate next time. But even now we need to learn more to motivate MSRIT students about blood donations.Overall this was a good experience for the new Sankalp volunteers as this was the first donation camp attended by them in the college.
