Disha Publicity diversified

One daunting question for the Disha team has been - ”Where should one try to publicize the blood help line?” People generally are not sensitive to such information unless they themselves need blood. With limited means, we decided to put up the stickers where we felt patients will look for help the most - in the hospitals. In November, Disha team selected 400 hospitals in Karnataka which have inpatient facilities and which are related to fields of medicine where blood may be required for treatment and sent them letters and stickers. Hopefully these institutions will circulate the letter in their staff and put up the stickers at prominent places in their institution.

As part of the Disha awareness program, a new video telling people about the help line was launched. The video became quite popular on social networking platforms

1 new blood bank joined Disha. HCG Blood Bank, Bangalore is a new member of Disha. Sankalp volunteers also conducted an awareness campaign for the help line at Vani Vilas and KCG Hospital.

With 30 calls a day, regular stock updates and smooth operations, the blood help line is ready top scale up to more blood requests.
