If death strikes before I prove my blood,

I swear to God, I’ll kill death!

Kargil war was fought between India and Pakistan between May and July 1999. Main cause of war was the infiltration of Pakistani troops and militants in the Kargil, Dras and other parts of Indian border. Water for life

Having missed the industrial revolution, we have tried hard to catch up with the new-age industries, mainly Information Technology and Biotechnology. While the growth of IT in India is universally known, it is noteworthy that Indian pharmaceutical industry ranks third in the world in terms of volume and fourteenth in terms of value. Well, lesser known is the fact, that until recently, there existed a river in Hyderabad where a single dip could make you immune to most diseases - and a second dip could have killed you.

The Boot Polish Wala

I had to wait for 2 hours for my train at the Howrah railway station. I started looking around for a place to sit and wait. Like most Indian stations, the search to find the place was tough. As I spotted a seat somewhere in the middle of humanity I rushed before someone else made better of the opportunity. While elbowing my way through the usual Kolkata style - laid back crowd, I suddenly found a man scouting right in the middle of the passage. Carefully I manoeuvred my luggage around him and claimed my prize.. the edge of an overcrowded bench.

Being Free

Many of us often wonder - what does Republic Day signify in real sense? Isn't Independence day good enough a reason to celebrate the freedom and spirit of nationalism? Why then, do we celebrate Republic Day? Before we come to appreciate what Republic Day actually signifies, it is important we understand the fact that India was never a singular democracy. For centuries, it was under monarchist rule. India, as we know it today, was not a even a single united nation. Even during the British times, India was a cohesion of British colonies and Princely states.

Capgemini: The Real Stuff

There were no camps organized in the city from the mid of December due to upcoming holidays and year end schedule. The blood stocks in the city were running short and eventually we had a situation where even common groups were becoming hard to avail. The burden of managing the Thalassemia Day care was there and having to spend an entire day to arrange 7 A+ve donors for day care, we realized a camp is the need of the hour.

The Kaveri River Water Dispute

Submitted by souravroy on
Everyday, we Bangaloreans drink Kaveri - the most disputed water of India. It is the water which is worshiped by millions and fought over by million others. For a river 765 Km long, Kaveri is extremely voluminous. This is mainly due to the heavy rainfall it receives in the western ghats region, and the tributaries which flow into it. The Kaveri water sharing dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu is undoubtedly one of the biggest issues South India faces today. The Kaveri water debate is not new. It has existed for more than 200 years now.
