After five years of hard work for the cause of blood we found ourselves fit enough to stand before the torch bearers of the cause of blood in Bangalore. O 27th September, 2008 Sankalp organized its first Blood Bank Meet at NIMHANS.
Blood Bank officers and representatives of nine blood banks attended this 2 hour programme. The agenda for the day was broadly divided into two sections. a. Blood Banks getting to know about the three working wigs (Emergency Team, CTC Disha and Rakta Kranti) of Sankalp in detail. b. Sankalp Volunteers to share the problems and issues they face with the blood bank officers and seek their guidance and support.
Quick crisp presentations set the stage right for the very robust and elaborate discussion that followed. One topic at a time, we looked into the problems confronting the blood transfusion services in general and Sankalp’s efforts to rectify them I specific. In the presence of the experienced ad knowledge blood bank officers and representatives the discussions wee rock and very fruitful. In about 90 minutes we had agreed upon a host of issues ad were looking forward to see these decisions implemented.
Active collaboration and constructive teamwork are the basis on which we can work to ensure the overall improvement in the blood donation services of the city. Open discussions break the barriers ad usher in pro-activity and understanding. Sankalp hopes to organize more such events in the time to come even as we work toward implementation of the decision take in this one.
