Kargil Vijay Diwas:
Every year, since 1999, 26th July is celebrated in India as Kargil Vijay Diwas. This is the day that India won the Kargil war in 1999 with the loss of 550 soldiers. To remember those brave Martyrs, Sankalp organized a Blood Donation Drive on this day and paid tribute to them. The Heroes were remembered, patriotic songs were sung and the events of the War were discussed. The site home page also contains a link where people can visit the page which displays the Martyrs and light candle to pay a tribute to these brave Heroes.

In the past week, there were 14 cases and 4 apheresis requests. And 3 single donor platelet Apheresis donations were made.

Schools: The volunteers are practicing a skit which will be performed in schools to educate the young minds about the importance of Voluntary blood donation. The students of class 7, 8, 9, 10 will be approached with the skit followed by a Blood Awareness Week, when the students can interact with the volunteers, clear their misconceptions and doubts and prepared to be regular donor when eligible.
CTC Disha:
The Blood Helpline number is expanding its network steadily. Following the addition of NIMHANS, another hospital, BGS Global hospital recently collaborated with CTC Disha and is now playing a part in making the blood search in Bangalore easier.
