The blood donation drive for MSRMBDS was held in M.S. Ramaiah Degree College on 31/10/08 from 11 am to 1:30 pm. This was the first blood donation drive for MSRMBDS from the Degree College.
The number of units collected is 27 although around 37 registered. All 37 donors came from only 2 classes which showed the interest among them. The 10 donors who were deferred were mainly due to low Hb (Haemoglobin) level. There were no instances of fainting, but one donor felt giddy for a while. Many donors who registered and donated were first time donors and showed quite an enthusiasm.
The response from the students was pretty good. The drive was well managed and there was no chaos as such during the drive. Yet the camp could have been conducted in a much better way. Areas of improvement are being looked into.
Hoping for more drives from the college on a regular basis from now on.
