Although the graph of blood availability in the state has stabilised over the years in Bangalore, summers are still a time of extreme need. Dengue is one killer disease which demands for a lot of units of blood to be available in blood banks. Rakta Kranti Bangalore team is gearing up to the task of making blood available in these critical months
The first summer drive was held at Reva college. This was the second Sankalp drive @ Reva. A training on things related to blood donation, publicity etc was held 2 weeks before the drive. Students who underwent the training were volunteers involved in spreading awareness in their college. The drive was held on 16 April 2010, with a total of 275 donors donating blood
Another blood donation drive was held @ EKA software. Here too it was the second drive. One active volunteer from the company drew up all his strength to get all companies in the building to come forward and participate. Using the awareness materials given by Sankalp, publicity was pushed through. A total of 65 donors donated blood there
The last week of April is full of blood for Sankalp Rakta Kranti Bangalore :). With 3 consecutive drives on 3 consecutive days, with one at AMD and 2 at Aegis, the team has made sure that the blood search for patients in the month of April is a less of a toil. Infact more than 400 people have donated in all these camps put together.
And thats not all, more drives are coming up in the coming months. Blood donation drives are being planned in almost every week in the months of May and June at many companies in Bangalore
