I had found that Google stopped showing Jammu & Kashmir and Arunachal as a part of India. Infact, Google was playing this dirty game for a long time. It was showing Arunachal Pradesh as a part of India to the Indians, a disputed land to the world, and a part of China to the Chinese. I read this in a mail sent by Rajat sir and was shocked! A greater question was- Should not Google respect International Borders released by United Nations or the fact that Arunachal Pradesh is still a part of India and is governed by the Government of India?
Last year, Sachin Pilot had said that government had sent a notice to Google for Showing P.O.K. as part of Pakistan. “Any wrongful depiction of Indian map and its boundaries is liable for action under the IT Act of India. Google has been asked to immediately correct this inaccuracy”. The issue is not in limelight anymore but the issue still exists. Google has still found a way to please China, Pakistan and India by amending local versions of Google Maps for respective countries.
We need to solve the problem with Arunachal Pradesh once and for all. Recently China issued stapled visa to residents of Arunachal Pradesh. It is unfortunate that we are letting this happen under our nose by making almost no effort to keep our country intact. We know that our brothers and sisters can never be as happy and prosperous being an independent state or by being a part of China. They will either turn into a talibanished state or a forced communist land. Democracy is the only road ahead for the mankind. Can we let our county crumble like this because of petty differences?
