Hearts at Work: CSR Highlights from May

Children living with thalassemia often grow up in a world shaped by treatment schedules, regular hospital visits, blood transfusions, and long-term medical care. Alongside clinical support, moments of connection, encouragement, and community can play an important role in making these journeys lighter for children and their families.

Throughout May 2026, Sankalp India Foundation had the opportunity to welcome several corporate teams through CSR engagement visits that created meaningful interactions, encouraged awareness, and strengthened connections around the cause of thalassemia.

These visits were not centred around transactions or formal engagements. They created opportunities for people to better understand the realities faced by families living with blood disorders and to explore how collective action can contribute towards stronger support systems.

Axiom Healthcare: Learning, Connecting, and Building Future Partnerships

On 8th May, coinciding with World Thalassemia Day, Sankalp India Foundation welcomed the team from Axiom Healthcare for a CSR engagement visit.

The interaction provided an opportunity to introduce the team to thalassemia and the everyday realities experienced by children and families managing transfusion-dependent conditions. Discussions focused on the importance of regular blood donation, transfusion support, and the broader initiatives undertaken by Sankalp across management, cure, and prevention.

The visit also created space for meaningful interactions with children and families, allowing the team to engage beyond presentations and understand the human side of long-term care.

A thoughtful gesture from the team in the form of gifts and goodies brought moments of joy for the children and added warmth to the celebration.

Importantly, the engagement also opened conversations around future collaboration, including interest in organising blood donation initiatives and exploring sustained avenues of support.

Himalaya Wellness Company: Creating Moments That Matter

On 14th May, Sankalp India Foundation hosted the team from Himalaya Wellness Company as part of their CSR engagement initiative.

The visit focused on creating awareness around thalassemia while helping participants understand the patient journey beyond medical definitions and statistics.

The team spent time interacting with children and families, learning about the importance of blood donation and witnessing aspects of the transfusion process and ongoing care ecosystem that supports patients.

What made the engagement particularly meaningful was the time spent simply being present.

Through conversations, activities, games, and shared experiences, the team helped create moments of joy and normalcy for children who spend a significant part of their lives navigating treatment routines.

The visit reflected how empathy and meaningful engagement can strengthen emotional support alongside healthcare.

Huron: Building Awareness Through Human Connection

On 15th May, Sankalp India Foundation welcomed the Huron team for a day of interaction, learning, and community engagement.

The visit introduced participants to thalassemia and helped create a deeper understanding of the long-term realities families navigate every month to ensure continuity of care.

Beyond awareness sessions, the day focused on direct engagement with children and parents through conversations, games, and shared activities.

The team's interest in understanding blood donation, thalassemia awareness, and patient experiences highlighted the important role organisations can play in strengthening public understanding of blood disorders.

These interactions also reinforced an important idea: awareness grows most meaningfully when people are able to connect directly with the individuals and families behind the cause.

Partnerships That Extend Beyond Support

CSR engagement visits create value not only through contributions but also through understanding, advocacy, and long-term relationships.

When organisations spend time learning about thalassemia and engaging directly with affected families, they become part of a broader movement that supports access to care, encourages voluntary blood donation, and builds awareness around prevention.

Each visit during May reflected a shared belief that meaningful change happens when people choose to engage, listen, and participate.

Sankalp India Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Axiom Healthcare, Himalaya Wellness Company, and Huron for their time, openness, and commitment to creating experiences that brought encouragement, visibility, and moments of joy to children and families living with thalassemia.

Together, these partnerships continue to strengthen a future where every child has access not only to treatment, but also to community, understanding, and hope.
