Sankalp is doing mass publicity without outside funding!!!
As you said mass publicity. The word mass is very general in nature please don't make it specific.
In day to day world we all count news papers, internet, television, hoardings,pamplets,mobiles etc as sources of mass communication. In the list of sources above Sankalp had utilized some of the above without outside funding. for ex
1) Our site "www.sankalpindia.net" comes on the top of the list in google when someone search for blood.
2) Some of the leading newspaper in Bangalore has published articles and activities about Sankalp, which is the source of mass communication.
3) Whenever Sankalp has organised a rally or march it has being telecasted in some local news channel. Thats mass communication through television.
4) Thanks to student offer in various mobile networks like hutch, spice etc. Messaging can be done in a surplus amount for the publicity of 1062.So this comes under mass communication.
As sankalp operates majoraly in Bangalore, so at this point of time it does not require outside funding. May be afterwards when it streches its arm outside Bangalore, but thats tomorrow.

Again the question is very much relative. As we all know there are thing like Blood mobile etc which wont come into real world if Sankalp deny funds from outside. Look friend the fact is fact and we cant simply deny it.
For all the other activities like some programme, some rally etc, funds should be managed by the people inside Sankalp.
Hey hey while writing this comments a thought striked my mind. If sankalp is launching a Blood Mobile then as per my knowledge it wont be registered in the name of Sankalp. Sankalp will be managing the Blood Mobile so that it can be used to the fullest. I mean to say that the volunteers will make sure that the Mobile is been utilised efficiently where ever required. So in this view point Sankalp is again not taking any funds, rather it is suggesting idea to someone who can afford it plus giving them service free of cost.
Fund is a term which is merely used for party/organisational work.
But in the case of Sankalp nothing of that sort is issued/collected till now.
May be some people will think about T-shirts and Magzines for which Sankalp took a minimal amount. But then again Sankalp already spend money from its pocket for the manufacturing/publishing of the same. So nothing is going into the organisation from outside in the form of cash.
Voluntary or involuntary Sankalp is not taking any funds from outside. So this poll is absurd anyways.
Fund for mass publicity...
What i mean is if sankalp want to go for mass publicity(of blood donation with small sankalp logo) like paid-ads in paper, radio and other medium than its also too costly for sankalp to manage so either we drop idea to mass publicity or collect fund from outside for such requirement...
So i need the general opinion from other volunteers so this poll is not absurd...

i am against collecting funds..
What we can do is once we require funds we can go to the people with the reason and get everything sponsored by them as in Blood Mobile and other incidents.
so basically when we require funds we can go and ask for it describing the purpose and once we fulfill the purpose then the person who donated the fund will be intimated.this way the person is also satisfied.

Some details for all of us
There are two types of expenses in any organization:
1. Operational
2. Service
Operational includes mobilization, publicity, manpower, transport, communication etc.
Service is the end impact or the outcome based expenses like products purchased to be given away etc.
Now discuss using these two terms
May be NOT
any organisation set up for the general welfare of public will require funds to fulfill its general objectives. But collecting funds from ouside the organisation from people who are not thoroughly aware about the organisation and its working may hamper its goodwill. Hence collecting funds from individuals who are aware of the organisations working is fine(i.e. voulantary donation). However reaching out for people to fund tje organisation may not be a good idea, atleast for now. it may send out a bad signal!!!!!

Funds should be collected from outside..
it shouldn't be used for adminstrative purpose as already stated in one of the comments.. but it should be used for the improvement of the society or should be used to help the needy or disaster struck people..
When there is a disaster, instead of asking people to help those people who are suffering after the disaster has been struck we can start collecting funds now itself so that when there is a disaster we do not waste our time collecting funds but go to the disaster struck place with the already collected fund.. thus we can reach the needy earlier..
Also the person or organisation which is providing the fund shouldn't expect anything in return from Sankalp..
