HP Visits Sankalp: A Day of Compassion and Connection

On 12 December, Sankalp India Foundation welcomed a team from HP for a day centred on empathy, connection and shared purpose. The visit was inspired by an HP team member who had earlier spent time at the Foundation and encouraged colleagues to experience the work first-hand.


The day began with conversations and a guided tour of the Blood Centre, Child Care Home and Day Care facilities. The team gained insight into how regular treatment, structured care and collective effort support children living with thalassemia and sickle cell disease.

Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur formalised a Memorandum of Understanding with Sankalp India Foundation to strengthen antenatal screening services, in the presence of Dean Dr. Ravi Chauhan and Head of Department Dr. Alka Patankar. This partnership marks an important step in expanding early screening and timely diagnosis, helping identify genetic blood disorders at the earliest possible stage.

Jalaram Day Care Centre in Ahmedabad successfully organised a blood donation camp with the active support of parents and caregivers, resulting in the collection of 178 units of blood. In a powerful reflection of shared responsibility, five patients themselves stepped forward as volunteers to help organise the drive, reinforcing the deep sense of ownership and resilience within the community. 

Hematology Research Showcase at ASH Meeting

Dr. Mohana Reddy represented Sankalp India Foundation at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting, one of the world’s most influential platforms in hematology, by presenting a scientific poster. 

The presentation highlighted Sankalp’s sustained work in research, innovation, and evidence-based care, particularly in hematology and stem cell transplantation, demonstrating how on-ground clinical practice informs and strengthens scientific inquiry.

Grant Thornton has been a long-term supporter of Sankalp India Foundation, consistently contributing through regular blood drives and CSR initiatives. Their unwavering commitment has helped sustain treatment and care for children living with thalassemia and other blood disorders. 

On 5th December, Grant Thornton organised a blood donation drive in partnership with Sankalp, which was met with enthusiastic participation. A total of 171 units of blood were collected, providing essential support for patients who rely on regular transfusions to survive
