It's possible to be honest and principled and succeed

It's possible to be honest and principled and succeed Nobody disputes that, during his lifetime, JRD Tata was the most respected — and probably the most admired — businessman in India . Ratan has finally inherited JRD's title. He is clearly the most respected and admired businessman in India today. Think back to that phase, 10 years ago, when the Tatas struggled to reinvent themselves in the post-JRD era. Ratan was perceived then: awkward, untalented, unworthy of the job, out of his depth and full of vindictive anger against many of the satraps of the JRD regime. It was a time of change.

Dear Friends,

Please go through this carefully and i think every one of us must try to make use of it when ever possible.

Government of India has an online Grievance forum at http://darpg-grievance.nic.in/

The government wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc etc.

Last one month has been nothing less than a roller coaster ride for me. I met a lot of people and visited amazing places. On one such occasion i had a rare chance of meeting a highly intellectual person with whom i was engaged in a discussion on which was better- objectivism or collectivism. I obviously supported collectivism without which our whole system stands to fall. Whatever had been our differences the only thing we agreed upon was that for the society and for the country to progress as a whole both the aspects are required at some point or the other.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

Isn't It Strange???

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/= seems like such a large amount when you donate it to temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at place of worship, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible/ Quran / Gita, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?

The Indian Farmer : Where India Does Not Shine!!

Submitted by rajat on

I came across this news report that I saw on NDTV today. (http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20080039334&ch=…)

I could not resist but comment on the effectiveness of what the government is planning to do. Please note that my opinion about this issue has taken shape after getting a comprehensive understanding of why India farmers are committing suicides as explained by P Sainath in one of his Parliamentary Lectures. Even though I am immature and too far away from village matters and therefore, not exactly the right person to be able to give a very good analysis, the my views expressed here are an understanding of an urban Indian about the vows of his brethren there on the fields.
