A 37-year-old mother, dejected at being unable to locate eye donors for her two blind sons, ended her life so that her eyes could be given to them.
The Sankalp volunteers were given the 1st opportunity and we grabbed it with enthusiasm. We were divided nt 6 groups, asked to pick up our schools of choice and speak to the students about safety tips during Diwali festival.
I came to Calcutta a day after a bandh was called and will be leaving a day after a bandh was called to protest against the Nandigram issue. Lot of people have been asking me what's wrong with Calcutta and the reason for which the general public and business is being affected. Is it an extended Diwali vacation??
Recently I happened to come across this article and I felt like sharing it with all of you. I don’t think many people even know about this incident and at first it may seem to all of us that it is so normal and casual and what is so special about this. It may not be very extraordinary incident and there may be many of similar sorts but then this shows that what wonders such incidents can bring about if dealt with properly.
There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?"
So she did
and
she
had
a
wonderful
day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did
and
she
had
a
grand
day.
Have you ever wondered how can a person alone make a difference without anybody's help!!!!!!!!

Sardar Ajit Singh - the name may not ring a bell among today's youth. Legend goes that this forgotten hero, an uncle of martyr Bhagat Singh, breathed his last on Aug 15, 1947 -- holding on to life till he heard the news of India's independence.
Unfortunately, no one pays him even a perfunctory homage at his memorial in Panjpulla in Dalhousie.
Meeting between "industrialist
and saint -- this is between Jamshed Tata and Swami Vivekananda.
I love to work with the young blood. The younger the better:)
