Anger...

Submitted by ankita on
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.... Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.

A report on US economy ! !

Submitted by ankit on
Written by an Indian Economist The Japanese save a lot. They do not spend much. Also Japan exports far more than it imports. Has an annual trade surplus of over $100 billions. Yet the Japanese economy is considered weak, even collapsing. Americans spend, save little. Also US imports more than it exports. Has an annual trade deficit of over $400 billion. Yet, the American economy is considered strong and trusted to get stronger. But where from do Americans get money to spend? They borrow from Japan, China and even India. Virtually others save for the US to spend.

Justification on Reservations

Submitted by ankit on
I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.

A mail abt a real Indian

A mail abt a real Indian Dear Friends, Here is a personal experience, as well as a moment of national pride, which I want to share with you. Hope you find it worth the time you put in reading it : "In the middle of 1965 India-Pakistan war, US govt - then a close friend of Pakistan - threatened India with stopping food-aid (remember "PL-480"?). For a food deficient India this threat was serious and humiliating.

The Sculptor's Attitude

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have. Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free. Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste. Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

MANTRAS - Feel the effect

Submitted by vibha on

A Mantra is a formula or a word with spiritual significance. Stripped off any Hindu background it is just a meaningless word or syllable which can help you relax very deeply. Mantra meditation is a very effective relaxation technique. Ok... Lets try... Close your eyes. After one or two minutes rest, start the mantra and repeat several times with the voice getting lower and lower. Then only whispering and eventually only thought. Even thinking of the mantra can get lower!

Tears in heaven

Would you know my name if I saw you in Heaven?

Would you feel the same if I saw you in Heaven?

I must be strong and carry on,

'Cause I know I don't belong here in Heaven ......

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in Heaven?

Would you help me stand if I saw you in Heaven?

I'll find my way, through night and day,

No one can pay back the love

After having reached at the peak of his career a man felt an urge to repay back to his mother for all that she had done for him. So he asked her,"Mother, what can I give you? What can I do for you? I sincerely want to repay you for all the sacrifices you have made for me and for all the love you have showered upon me." She looked surprised and said, "Why do you think about it. It was my duty so I did it, you don't have to repay me.

Unconditional Love

My mom had only one eye.I hated her... she was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family. There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, "EEE, your mom only has one eye!" I wanted to bury myself.

Honesty?

Ours was a residential school. I was in my 11th std. I was a vice captain of the school. One day our principal made a rule that whoever comes late for the dining hall will not be given food and will be sent back. Few days latter I did the same when few students came late for the lunch. I sent them back. They were not given lunch. Next day I reported the same to the principal. He smiled and said " don't take it literally, It was said so to make students more conscious". Then after I did not repeat the mistake I did.And even I did not think about it.
