On 26th November, 2009, Sankalp India Foundation, Ascendas and Applied Materials together will organise a blood donation drive for the 7th time in 2.5 years at Multipurpose Hall, ITPB. The stage is set for another mega drive with around 350 units of blood expected to be collected. Work on creating awareness and motivation has already kicked off
A blood donation drive will be organised by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in association with Sankalp India Foundation on 30th October, 2009 at it's Jakkur campus.
HSBC Bank will conduct a blood donation drive in association with Sankalp India Foundation in their Bannerghatta Road branch on the 6th and 7th of November 2009. With a large employee base, it is expected that there will be a good number of donors coming forward to donate blood. This event would kickstart Sankalp's blood donation drive in companies after a brief 2 month lull owing to better stocks in bangalore city
Sankalp gets off the mark this September with a blood donation drive @ Reva Engineering college, Yelhanka. A training programme was conducted for 13 volunteers of the college who will take over the job of publicity and awareness in the college with a capacity of close to 2500 students
Bangalore needs more than two lakh units of blood every year. However, only about 70 per cent of this requirement is fulfilled. There now is a fair amount of awareness about blood donation in society. Despite advancement in science and technology, there is still no means to “manufacture” blood.
Millipore is a company with a few employees located in Peenya. Together with Sankalp a blood donation drive shall be organised there on the 22nd of June 2009. About 30 units of blood are expected to be collected
