Every star in sports today runs for endorsements. This has subdued the fire in them to fight, to win for their country. We need sportsmanship like that of Kapil Dev. He was the one who played for his country. The raw energy and passion led him win the world cup in 1983 even though we were underdogs that time. Furthermore he represents honesty, sincerity for his work. He has been a down to earth man ready to assist the Indian cricket today in whatever he can.

I need not tell much about Viswanathan Anand. He represents India best because he is a pioneer in chess and the sport is recognized worldwide, unlike cricket. Also his excellency in chess symbolizes that the reasoning power and mental stability the Indians have is magnanimous and one to get intimidated by.... Things here are getting quite biased. Please remove Kapil dev from the list. He is not all comparable with these youngters. If they are king then he is GOD....

1>> I was planning at add Dhyanchand and then see what happens to poll 2>> Please do not forget that we the people have the best brian to forget those who were once Gods. If it was not Sankalpindia.net I would have half expected the poll to show results the other way round.. So I guess.. let us keep it this way and see what it comes to.

Hey dude you sound quite logical but one thing which i believe is comparing Gods with normal human being is wrong. Dhyanchand , Kapil dev are those sport persons who made India win on their own like a single man army . Remember 1983 world cup? India Vs Zim. India was 17-5, then came the god and made unbeaten 175. However putting Dhyanchand in this poll would be like someone doing his MBA from Christ college after doing his B TECH from IIT Kanpur. Anyways as you said lets see what people feel and respond.

Actually what I think is.. Vishwanath Anand is very much comparable to Kapil Dev.. its just that Vishwanath's achievements are all in shadow because chess is not something which is very happening in media.. Kapil is a superb sportsman but its not that he is not comparable.. we dont even know how many trophies Vishwanath has brought to India..how many world championships he has won..

Vishwanathan Anand is a one man army...Every second person in India has a passion for cricket but how many knows chess when he started his career. he has given a persistences performance in chess over several years (not like cricket players)and still rank top in chess... Get going..

As i have heard a human mind goes on improving as we start using them..( i m refering to IQ) but as we grow old our body weakens.. so factually the performance of sports players dips as they grow old and the way the mind works also changes as oldage nears.. Vishwanathan Anand has a brilliant mind and the players are just brilliant in their respective games.. Also chess is a single player game compared to cricket.. there are instances when Kapil and Sachin have been the sole reasons for India's victory:-)

i would cast my vote to sachin tendulkar..i doin so i d also state my reason s for it... first..cricket s such a craze in india..not only the adulation but also the pressure these pple handle..and who other than the little master knows it..rite from early nineties he been carryin this pressure and has performedd marvellously..baggin 1 m o series and cricket s biggest carnivals in 2003 and bein highest run getter in 96..wat ever be his current status..which i again blive is not faltered..he continuues 2 be the don of bradman in india!!!!!

This morning I was watching news when I came to know that amongst actors Hrithik Roshan is the one who pays highest income tax, followed by Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Now coming to cricketers Sachin Tendulkar is the one who always tries and saves his tax by telling lies. he got one big brand car and to save tax he simply quoted that it was gifted to him by the company.

I dont think we can even compare the 3 sportsman.. different feilds the same work done ie bringing name n fame to india. but my vote goes to Viswanathan Anand as he alone has brought laurals to india. even the majority of ppl who have voted also think so. other sportsmen included can never take the the trophy alone, a small or large essence of team work is included as these sports cannot be played alone and team work is required. anand as rightly said is a one man army, alone rising India's name.

Really,,therz just no comparin' sachin wid any one else...basically sachin iz a guy who has been provin his mettle for the past 18 yrz and it wud be wrong to even think of placing any one ahead of him...sania mirza..shudn't even be in the list accordind to my personal information. other ones like vishy and kapil are gr8z....but not legendz....gr8z r many...but lgndz are few...datz d rule and dat iz just how it shud be....so my votes for SACHIN...rock on man..._\m/
