Visit to Gandhi Foundation

Here we saw another organization working for the cause. I had thought the organisation is run by the retired persons who want to work for the name. But it is not so. Its again a youth group like CTC who are working professionals and active members of this organisation. We were warmly welcomed at Old age home run by this organisation. There on the board it was written with colors Welcome Sankalp India Foundation. We had similar kind of welcome at Grow well school in Thanjavur. We had a very good interaction with Devendra one of the active member. He appreciated our working and he wish that Sankalp should grow very strong and work in many other fields where it is necessary. According to him there is a need of youth participation to attend the problems in the society. He feels unless more and more people join in social activities it is not possible for small groups to cater all the requirements in the society. Because society demands more people and a revolution to minimize the problems. He also adds today people are self centered and are least bothered about the society they live in. He wanted to live different. He did not like running after money and a very luxury living like the today’s generation. He wanted to live peacefully so he chose to leave his job and joined Gandhi Foundation as a worker. He suggested us to have meetings very often even after leaving college in order to maintain the group. He told us about the approach to work better and how the stability of an organisation can be maintained for sustainable growth. He feels such works requires dedication and sacrifice. He did not want us to become one of those work in the spirit of young age and disappear latter. He said you have to change the people prospective of youth responsibility towards nation. Then we spent a good time talking to senior citizens at the Old age home, we sung songs, bhajans. People here were happy and it was looking like an ideal Old age home. It was a smile we got while returning. We promised that we meet them again. Volunteers who had good visit are Vibha, Sujatha, Varsha, Rama Krishna, Jayesh, Rajat and Venu
