Isn't It Strange???

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/= seems like such a large amount when you donate it to temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at place of worship, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible/ Quran / Gita, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in a holy place?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for temple 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say, but we question the words in the holy books?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Yes sir one should agree with you, today's generation is somehow more leaned towards materialised life. Faith in god will be the biggest support for anyone in any critical condition but unfortunately, that is what today's generation is missing.

while we r shopping we r buying stuffs for our luxury and our satisfaction so we don't bother to spend but when we r in temple we hesitate because we know that god doesnot bless some one by how much Dakshina he has given.. and also we are giving the Rs 20 for some one elses benifit and not our own

In a place of worship the same rituals and the same prayers are recited again and again.. we get bored watching the same things again and again but each movie has a different story a different set of actors and actresses and thus it becomes interesting... people like to do new things and enjoy seeing new things in life than to do the same old stuff they have been doing..

while praying if someone has faith in God than surely he will find sufficient words to say to God.. but since no one has seen God but we can see our friends talking to our friends is easier than to God..

again the same answer goes for the books as that of watching movie and being in a holy place

i guess these sentences i have typed can be repeated for all the statements mentioned in the blog in different forms..

Its a problem with our perception. We are made to believe that visiting temples, praying is orthodox, it isnt cool. Chatting with a friend, shopping is cool. Take a case of a simple, devout human being, who prays everyday. He may find it easier to pray, go to temple than otherwise. People need to decide what is best for them. Sometimes, what is best for us may not be what the world tells us. We need to hear within. As for being comfortable, its a matter of practice and dedication. The more we get involved in praying, the more we get dedicated and consistent, the more we may find ourselves inclined to start again
