It worked!

After weeks of googling out solutions and trying to figure out if at all they could work ,there was one platform that stood out. The trial version promised unrestricted service at least for a month. It was an autumn evening. The biggest roadblock now was the lack of a communication line. The network card was also out of sight. This could work the way it was desired, but nothing could be set before the first message was exchanged. Restlessness to test the setup knew no bounds.

At around 10, a realization dawned. I got the required network card from one of my juniors in the hostel. There was at least one place where I could find the communication line and the pc up and running. It was at my cousin's place. Once the ray of light was seen, there was no question of waiting. The first bus to majestic had me on board. The road to the realization of ideas has many problems. And this I duly realised when I tried to barge into the BMTC bus at Majestic. It seemed that war had been declared and everyone wanted to run out of the town to save their lives. Leave alone the foot board, people seem to be clinging on to every nut and bolt they found. I managed to get space enough to rest one of my foot. Onion garlic paste, if rotting with eggs for a month would, I believe smell better than what the bus smelt due to body odour.

My cousin is a teachie (who actually justifies being called so). Keen on exploring new ideas and concepts and ever ready to meddle with wires and nuts, soon the two of us had turned the room upside down. we fitted in the network card and started configuring the software. All, things seemed to fit in perfectly. Any electronics engineer will tell you how beautifully fitted all electronic circuits look until you switch the power on.

Once things were in place, we were ready for the test. The first trigger was initiated. We watched the monitor eagerly as we saw that the communication was being acknowledged.Few more seconds and we expected our eureka moment. It did not come, at least so soon. The struggle went on. Fixing up things, checking wires, pulling the communication line from one end of the room to the other. But, nothing worked!

It was already 2 when we decided to give up. My cousin wanted to sleep. Both of us went to bed. I was still very restless but I did not know what to do. A few minutes later, lights were switched on again and the two of us were there, reconfiguring things.. And Yes, just then. It Happened. The Interaction worked out! It worked. It worked..

Mad with joy and excited to see the set-up work. We smiled and laughed.. Cups of tea were used to Cheer ourselves up. :)
The big question for all of you - "What was it that worked?"

I suppose this was IVRS, an automatic system which we were trying to establish to handle cases. Am I right?
