No education is complete without travelling

Submitted by Lisha on

On the way to the Great Himalayas, my aunt told me this line (told to her by her neighbour) that no matter how much anyone studies, their education will never be complete without travelling, on the very first day.

At that moment, I thought it was an over-statement. I mean in this era where one can find any possible answer right at the finger tips, and where world is getting smaller by the minute through the World wide web, where does the need to travel those long days sitting in a bus arise?

Then everyone forgot about this line. After about a week or so, I somehow remembered it again. It was because of this incident. Throughout the journey, I had seen only one person, who would come and tell just about 2 lines about any place that we went to (he couldn't tell more even if we asked him). And after a week, it was at one spot, that there was another person who explained about the same place in an inimitable way. Well sure, I could have seen the place from an arial view (if available on the web), or probably read about it and imagined it, but then I would have missed this experience.

Then on, I started to look around for such small details which makes all the difference in the way things can be perceived. The bus ride was fun, the mountains looked mighty, the rivers roared as they flowed, the clear blue sky stretched beyond the horizon, the mist was cool and when thick enough it tickled down my face. Finally the trip got a lot more beautiful than I had imagined on the first day. Could I have studied this from anywhere?

Hoping to get more educated this way :)

wow..travelling is always fun..nothing compared to the 'areial' view of the web.. believe me there is nothing like watching the whole world from the top of a mountain or standing beside a huge waterfall.. these things make us look timid and make us realise that whatever we are or whatever we do we will always be smaller than the one and only one............

How can i imagine Blue without having seen it :)

we get to know a lot more things when we experience

it than when we imagine it.
