A very good morning indeed

This is a small description of what makes the Sankalp mornings so great :)

* Saturday the 4th October * I woke up with a call from a person who was requesting for AB-ve blood. The unit is not available throughout the town. As the standard practice goes, we selected one of the Emergency Team Volunteers to take up the request. The search is still ON. >> The Good Thing is that on this Saturday morning I can lay back and rest while I ma reassured that someone is fighting/putting in all the right effort to ensure blood is provided to that person.

Two days back the Red Cross Chief from Tanjavur - Mr Rajamahendran had called. He wanted us to help someone in Puttuparthy in Andhra Pradesh with 5 units of A-ve. The patient was due to be posted for surgery and the relatives were helplessly waiting for blood in that remote town in AP. Moreover, the patient's relatives spoke only Tamil fluently. >> One of our Volunteers is working on the request. She speaks TAMIL and interacts with the patient effectively. None of us have ever visited Puttuparthy but THINGS ARE ROLLING. These people are advising the patient side from here and providing them contacts in that city. And you know what - "Magic is happening". I hear that they were sent to a college where they got fabulous response. 2 people have already donated. More are on their way today. Chakka Ghum Raha Hai Boss

Then if this was not enough for the early hours of the day here is more. Two days back we had arranged for a unit of O-ve. A lady was pregnant and there was a chance that she would undergo a caesarian operation and things could have been very bad if blood was not arranged. >> This morning they told me that the father of the child .. .. oh no no no no.. father of children.. (twin baby girls are born :):) ) had called Mother and babies are doing fine.

And.. and and and.. As a topping for all of this, this morning one more blood donation drive is happening in Ramaiah!

It is good to wake up one fine Saturday and realise that people are working. Working in the direction that goes towards their goal!
