Rakta Kranti Bangalore
Dear Guest,Sankalp India
Dear Guest,
Sankalp India Foundation is not a blodd bank. We are a voluntary organisation assisting more than 60 blood banks in Karnataka and enabling people to get donors in emergencies. Therefore, we are not the right point of contact to borrow blood - it is the blood banks.
All services provided by Sankalp India Foundation are completely free of cost. We do not charge anybody for anything.
However, I will try to answer what is the amount of money a person should expect to pay when they collect blood from the blood bank. Firstly, no blood bank which abides by the law charges for blood itself. Blood is free of cost. Some charges are recovered by the blood bank for the collection, testing, processing and storage of blood in line with the law of the land. The charges do vary a lot across blood banks because some blood banks work on larger Government assisance ans subsidies that the others. There are those blood abnks as well who have taken steps to do additional testing( than what is minimum required) and they add the costs incurred to the cost of a unit for the patient.
In general, a BPL patient is given blood free of cost from Government and severa other service oriented blood banks. Government hospital patients can expect charges in the range of Rs 250 - Rs 600/- The private hospital patients can expect charges from Rs 500/- to Rs 900/-. This is something which may vary from blood bank to blood bank.
How this helps.
What is a cost of a blood , if borrowed from you???
