Blood Donation Camp conducted at RVCE.

Submitted by ankit.poddar on
I will like to share my experience of the blood donation camp that we conducted in R.V. College of Engineering on 13th march in which we collected 905 units of blood. i couldnt share this before due to some reasons. Anyway, we were planning it from a long time and we called 11 reputed blood banks. However, they were reluctant to conduct the hemoglobin test etc and were not wearing the gloves, which they did when we told them to do, else leave the place. Personally I was waiting for the event from a long time, and the feeling that I had after the successful conduction of the camp is incomparable with any other feeling. I wont have felt so happy and satisfied even when I scored one of my best score in my university exams, the feeling was really wonderful. But at the same time I was a bit unhappy as I won’t be able to conduct it next year as it will be under my juniors next year. Thus I thought of getting associated with Sankalp India Foundation. However, I am not lucky enough to do something with Sankalp but I am looking forward for it. That’s all I have to tell about, Ankit Poddar, 3rd Year, RVCE.

It is really appreciable that you gave the first preference to donor safety than anything else.I personally appreciate the spirit and responsible behavior of students of RVCE.

You have actually set an example for others to follow. Now a day whenever we are talking about conducting blood donation camp its RVCE’s 2007-blood donation camp that spontaneously comes out as an example. But Ankit I personally feels that your responsibility doesn’t gets over here. Now its your turn to see that other colleges conduct blood donation camp giving priority to quality and not quantity.

Thank you for ur appreciation Ankita, but i dont know how should i go about in conducting the camps in diff college, i ll talk abt this to my club members, lets c.

Hi Ankit, It’s very simple. First thing to do is start talking more and more about blood donation to as many people u come across. Then try contacting your friends and their friends from different colleges and try knowing more about the pattern of blood donation camps in all those colleges. If your entire group is interested in this activity then you can divide yourself in smaller groups of 2 or 3 and visit colleges in your free time. Speak to the concerned people there, it may be NSS chief or Principal or any other group. It totally depends on your group to motivate them to conduct quality camps in their college. You may come across many resistances but know it that without it you wont feel the real achievement. Summer shortage is going on in Bangalore city and it’s the time when colleges and company should come forward to conduct camps. So try contributing in reducing this shortage. All the very best and any assistance required you can always call us or mail us.
