Strengthening the bond between the "Swami Vivekanand School" and "Sankalp" we got a invitation to join them on occasion of Independence day during their cultural celebration.
Sankalp received a warm welcome as always. School children performed dance, sang songs and gave speeches to celebrate the Independence Day. The children took the get-up of different famous personality including Pratibha Patil, Bhagat Singh, Gandhi, Bhim and it was an amazing sight to see. Volunteers who were visiting first time were delighted to see the enthusiasm and energy of the children and teachers.
Volunteer who contributed during the last visit to get the notebooks for the children found the place worthy of the help. Some of the people who visited school for the first time, showed keen interested in extending help to school. An urgent need to whitewash the school was observed and the visitors decided to take up the issue with their companies to be able to arrange some funds.
At the end of program volunteers distributed sweets and got sweet memories in return which they will not forget for years.
People where happy to find a meaningful way to celebrate the national festivals and vowed to take the message ahead for more of their colleagues.
