Sankalp celebrated completing 8 years since its inception on 23rd May 2003. With all rigor, the Volunteers started the preparations weeks before the Anniversary function. This year, the function for all the well-wishers and Sankalp friends was held on 21sy May in the seminar hall of M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, from 2pm to 4pm. The program that began with the singing of Vande Mataram was packed with cultural events including song and dance and also a rich set of presentations and talks highlighting Sankalp's journey over the last year.
We had 5 blood donation drives in the month of March where 409 donations and over 550 registrations. The details of these drives are given below:
The month started with a blood donation drive at TATA consulting engineers Limited on 3rd March. This day was also the Founder’s day for TATA group. The team red volunteers did a great job in spreading awareness among the people and we had 57 donations here.
On the second of April as the nation rejoiced the triumph of the Indian cricket team at the biggest stage in cricket, volunteers of Sankalp had another reason to celebrate. Sankalp India Foundation had a few hours earlier won the Spirit of Humanity Awards 2011 for being one of the committed NGOs working in the healthcare sector.

Bombay blood group requests have increased tremendously in the past few weeks since January. Even in the month of February, there were 4 requests of Bombay blood group, out of which two were from Bangalore and 1 from Vadodara and 1 from Vijaywada. Two days after celebrating his centennial birthday on Feb 12, a retired oil worker from California, Louis Kerker marched into Houchin Community Blood Bank and donated blood on National Donor Day (in United States of America), which was also Valentine’s Day.
