Sankalp India Foundation – Lets give Life a better chance
Founded in 2003 by student volunteers, Sankalp India Foundation is a non-profit organization on a mission to deliver lifesaving healthcare to India’s most underserved. What began with a focus on voluntary blood donation has grown into a national movement transforming the prevention, care, and cure of thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
Our Work
🩸 Voluntary Blood Donation
We ensure timely, voluntary blood availability through a nationwide network—so no patient ever waits for a lifesaving transfusion.
💉 Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Care
At 23+ centers across 6 states, we provide 2,400+ children with regular transfusions, medication, diagnostics, and counseling—delivering standardized, high-quality care.
🧬 Cure Program (Bone Marrow Transplantation)
With 750+ BMTs completed, our Cure Program offers children a chance at a transfusion-free life—through safe, affordable, and effective transplantation.
🛑 Thalassemia Prevention
We run carrier screening, genetic counseling, and awareness programs to prevent new births with thalassemia and sickle cell disease—stopping the disease before it starts.
Our Mission
To ensure that every child with thalassemia or sickle cell disease receives the care and cure they need—and to prevent new cases through awareness and screening.
Our Vision
A thalassemia and Sickle cell free India where every child has the chance to live a full, healthy life.
Our Impact (as of 2025)
2,400+ children receiving lifelong care
750+ curative BMTs completed
1.7 Lakhs pregnant women screened and 170+ affected births prevented for thalassemia and sickle cell carriers
Active in 6 states, 23+ centers

🌱 Behind every number is a child’s smile, a parent’s relief, and a future reclaimed. This is why we do what we do..
A certain amount of unrest that resides within us is our driving power. In our day to day living, this unrest provokes us work for our dreams.

Thank you
Thank you Mr. Rajagopal for your wishes and compliments. All of us from Sankalp wish you success in all your future endeavors.
Dear all at Sankalp
Hearty congratulations on the Jury's choice award from Americares. I had made a presentation myself on behalf of Pallium India. I would have preferred to win the award for Pallium India, but am happy that we lost to such a worthy competitor.
I am writing this just to tell you how much I admire the wonderful work that you do. Before I came into Palliative Care, I worked as an anesthesiologist and in that role a not-infrequent heart-breaking experience used to be having to watch helplessly as people died in front of you just because blood did not become available at the right time. Your essential humanity is very very inspiring and I fold my hands to you.
And the presentation was simply wonderful!
