Sankalp : A Big Picture

Many of the Volunteers, particularly freshers and the Chennai Volunteers, knew of Sankalp but did not have the entire big picture. So this Sunday meeting was conducted, when the Chennai Volunteers came to Bangalore. As our Guest for the day, we had a person from MindTree, Mr. Abraham Moses (Head of Administration). The day started by giving the introduction about all the Sankalp branches (Rakta Kranti, Project Tiranga, CTC Disha, BDO and Financial Department) and activities handled. This included the past activities, present ones and the planned ones for future.

Before lunchtime, Mr. Moses shared with us, his experiences, other incidents, and his views on some of the issues. He encouraged us to continue our effort and gave valuable suggestions for Sankalp organization. By then, we were joined by 3 employees of MindTree, who were Seema D, Shilpa Hejmadi and Praveena (All are Active Volunteer in MindTree Social Activity and Infosys Social Activty). They have been working with Indira Gandhi Institute Academy (a Sri Lankan refugee school) for the past 2 years. They shared their experiences with us, and some of the incidents and difficulties, which they faced during their efforts.

Post lunch, the session, mainly for the volunteers, was focused on the development of the Chennai wing of Sankalp BDO branch. A brief discussion about the procedures and the possible difficulties were all discussed. For the up coming months, other activities, which should be worked on were planned for.

Finally, the Administrative block of Sankalp was discussed about. With this, we ended our day by singing our National Anthem and departed with the understanding of the big picture of Sankalp, and our duties.
