Asia Pacific Bone Marrow Transplantation Meet was organised at Singapore from 28-30 October 2016. The Sankalp-Cure2Children Network was happy to have 6 of our posters selected to be presented at the meeting. From transfusions to transplant - how a five-year-old girl defeated Thalassemia

Rupavathi is a little more than five years old. She lived with her family in a small village near Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. Her father worked as a coolie who helped in mason work locally. Her mother was a house wife. Rupavathi was diagnosed with thalassemia when she was one year old. The local doctor referred her to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health in Bengaluru.

Bombay blood group donor’s meet

On 10th January 2016 we had the 5th Bombay blood group donor meet - the get together of the every special people who have the Bombay blood group. The meeting provides a unique opportunity for people with this rare blood group to come together and deliberate upon issues related to the donation, requests and management of Bombay blood group.
