Currently, according to the Annual plan of Sankalp, most of our working wings tend to relax and come out of the execution semester and gear up for the planning semester. But, this year, the situation is such that, execution is still on the highest priority leaving less time for planning.

What is Thalassemia?
Sankalp has been organizing plenty of blood donation drives in the past few years. Thousands of donors have donated blond. However there is always a small section of people who don not get to donate blood. Many of them specially ladies are anemic and hence not eligible for blood donation. It is determined by the amount of Hemoglobin present in the blood.
Sankalp India Foundation, NIMHANS and ISBTI (Indian Society For Blood Transfusion and Immuno Hematology), Karnataka will organise a 2 day workshop on blood components for blood bank officers and technicians from all across the state of Karnataka. The workshop will focus on the need for effective usage of blood components and will include talks by leading transfusion specialists of the country. Live sessions will further enhance the importance of the workshop for technicians who are involved in component separation, apheresis donations etc.
Few of us are not very convinced with the fact that Donating blood is a very safe process. Various myths along with the lack of awareness amongst the people contribute to the unwillingness to donate blood. Here we will discuss some of the common reasons why blood donation is a very safe procedure.
