Why do we pray

Submitted by amitsedai on

I was travelling on a bus to Bannerghatta (in Bangalore). There was high traffic congestion, as rains were torrential. Where most were thinking about when they may reach home, my mind started to wander, thanks to the loss of my mp3 player.

Why India Liberated Bangladesh

I was a keen student of politics when I was young. I used to go through as much as possible on India and Pakistan relations, the major political events and similar stuff. One of my must reads those days was India Today which gave me some insight into the world I was living in.

My inquisitive mind always wanted more and more answers and I debated with elder people till they got frustrated with me.

Wish I could share their pain...

Recently in a bus accident near Ahmedabad drowned 39 children. There were the future of india. They were most loved for so many. There were the only life's happiness for so many. My eyes gets wet when I am missing my parents. I know, how much pain is it for my parents as their son is away. Its beyond my heart to feel or understand the pains of parents of those kids. When saw the photograph in newspaper, I could not stop my eyes from getting wet. Wish I could share their pain.

Rich Dad, or Poor Dad?

Submitted by flashy_vishy on

A few years back, often we used to hear the words "India is a poor country, we can't afford this/that/etc". Now, however, the situation is much much better. We are seen as the new force in the world, thanks to unrelenting efforts from our businessmen, and support from our politicians in the form of policies that make doing business easier than it was before.

It worked!

Submitted by rajat on

After weeks of googling out solutions and trying to figure out if at all they could work ,there was one platform that stood out. The trial version promised unrestricted service at least for a month. It was an autumn evening. The biggest roadblock now was the lack of a communication line. The network card was also out of sight. This could work the way it was desired, but nothing could be set before the first message was exchanged. Restlessness to test the setup knew no bounds.

Looking for someone who will ACT ..

Submitted by rajat on

This wonderful monday morning I opened my mailbox to see a mail from a person I scarcely remember. He was there in my college, a year junior to me. I was sure he has got nothing to do with me.. Reluctantly, I clicked the button to open the mail.

And guess what! All I could see is an ocean of mail ids. Ids and more ids .. It looked like this person had decided to mail half of humanity about some issue that he expected people will dish out from the ocean of mail ids that one could see.

happy Ugadi to the unborn child!

Submitted by rmourya1 on

Happy Ugadi.. Happy Ugadi to the unborn child who is sitting right on the top and smiling at the mere foolish mortals. Happy Ugadi to the mother who bore him for 9 months only to battle for her own life at this present moment. This maybe a mood spoiler for the new year but i just can't stop thinking of the events that took place yesterday. I fail to understand how on earth can a hospital specify the wrong blood group of a pregnant lady who is critical. I remember the time when my cousin was about to be born. Everything all around was so joyous.

Surabhi revisited?

Submitted by mohitag on

Siddharth Kak and Renuka Shahane are the two names synonmous with Surabhi. Ofcourse, it was a serial which I would impatiently wait to watch. Well to be hoenst, the impatience was not as much to see the show but to listen to the results of the previous(Two episodes) episode Quiz. I think that was the first time I used a post card and carefully put it in the red letter box staring at the colony gate of my small town.

Surabhi

Surabhi! Does it trigger something inside.. Some remote thoughts about a wonderful programme that used to bring to us glimpses from all over the country and fill us with immense national pride.

Though people had different reasons to see the programme, some for information, some for the sheer fun of it, but it was one of those special programmes that no one wanted to miss.

Stories from all parts of the country served beautifully. Ah! Those fascinating days!
