This one is from Aditi Vyas I was talking with a lawyer friend of mine. We were discussing the law and women`s rights. She told me about this incident in Pune - a young girl was raped by a man posing as a plain clothes officer; he asked her to come to the police station when she and her male friend didn't have a driver`s license to show. He sent the boy off to get his license and asked the girl to accompany him to the police station. Took her instead to an isolated area where the horrendous crime was committed.

I am proud of you

We had a volunteer who participated in the Banaglore protest against reservation. Im proud of him. Im very proud of him. You know why? >> He did not forget the job as a Sankalp Volunteer there. He did not forget that a Sankalp volunteer has to keenly look for conditions that might cause disasters and mitigate them >> He did not have dis-interest in the activity going on just because some people there were too arrogant. He took the cause above the people. >> He was avilable for all that required a Sankalp volunteer.

Some time back a close friend made a shocking statement. The person said-"On mitigation side Sankalp has not actually done much." When I disagree I usually give a quiet smile and wait for the time when the situations and work can answer back. The reason why I am sharing this is because I want to share the way one can actually take things positively and thereby make things in the world positive. We had a huge gathering of students protesting against the reservation policy of the government. Two volunteers of Sankalp were also there. The situation suddenly became volatile. And guess what?

There were about 70 scientists working on a very hectic project. All of them were really frustrated due to the pressure of work and the demands of their boss but everyone was loyal to him and did not think of quitting the job. One day, one scientist came to his boss and told him - Sir, I have promised to my children that I will take them to the exhibition going on in our township. So I want to leave the office at 5 30 pm. His boss replied "OK, You're permitted to leave the office early today" The Scientist started working. He continued his work after lunch.
