India is a country of festivals. Deepavali (Diwali) is the grandest of them all and is more commonly known as the festival of lights. Deepavali always holds a special place in the hearts of Indians. This festival signifies the victory of good over evil and the triumph of light over darkness. For the team at Sankalp, it is a celebration of the victory of good life over struggle with every successful transplant, the victory of safe blood over the struggle to look for it, the victory of finding regular, systematic care at one place over compromised, temporary solutions .
This year Deepavali celebrations happened at both our BMT centres. Patients and their families were given little gifts and the little ones were overjoyed. The staff at the BMT facilities did their best to ensure that the families seeking treatment did not miss their loved ones and extended family too much .
At the Ahmedabad facility, the unit was decorated with lamps on the outside and beautiful rangoli with flowers.
