On the cusp of the New Year, as the world was getting ready to usher in a hopeful new beginning, we at Sankalp, in association with DKMS, thought that something special must be done. Most of what Sankalp and DKMS do together is centred around children. Therefore, it was decided to gather a group of about 8-10 post transplant kids and organize a drawing and painting competition centered around the theme of Christmas and New Year. They were given drawing kits and goodies by DKMS. The kids were thrilled as they got to enjoy a day of fun and frolic.
While the children drew and painted, members of team Sankalp played the guitar, played beautiful notes on the keyboard and sang joyous songs and to keep the spirits of children high. A nice and yummy cake was cut and the little ones ate it to their hearts full.
Sankalp wishes to place on record the great trust that our donors place in us to give our best to children suffering from dangerous blood disorders. We hope that there will be many more joyous new year celebrations with more and more children being cured and given a chance to enjoy a normal life.
