The 400 acres that Mamata Banerjee has been crying hoarse about is not the issue. It is not the 997 acres that has been allotted to Tata Motors by the West Bengal government that is the real issue. It is not about the Rs.1500 crore investment that Tata Motors has made for the plant. Nor is this issue about the 56 vendors of Tata Motors that have set up shop around what was to come up as the mother plant for Nano in Singur. It is also not about the Rs 350 crore hit that Tata Motors is going to take if the plant and machinery were to be shifted out of Singur.

You might ask me 'who is Abhinav Bindra?'. But honestly I did not know him, until yesterday. His name does not show up on many sports publications or sports sites. However, he is as much an athlete and competitor as anyone who receives attention in those media outlets.

Abhinav is an Olympic gold medallist.

Every time, I saw her, I believed more in dreams, in hard work and determination and in power of the fairer sex. Her courage of taking the road ‘not taken’ and her conviction to sustain against all odds was just too inspiring.

Friends, I would like to share with you a great message given by my teacher from Kalidasa's Shakuntalam 2000 years ago. Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course, lie all the verities and realities of your existence; the bliss of growth, the glory of action, splendor of achievement, for yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision.

Voluntary Donation in Delhi!!

If you are a healthy, young Delhiite and not a regular blood donor you are contributing to the Capital’s abysmal voluntary blood donation record. According to the National Aids Control Organisation’s latest country-wide “Voluntary Blood Donation” report, voluntary blood donation in Delhi is a poor 29.3 per cent. Delhi shares space with States such as Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar.
