It was decided upon tht the blood bank will not ask for replacements coz we had started wit the weekly camps in ramaiah but i came to hear a case from a sankalp volunteer that still units of blood were being asked for from a patient...
As the person contacted sankalp and when the volunteer went back to the blood bank the blood bank immediately said 1 unit replacement will be sufficient instead of 2 said to the patient earlier..
on hearing our name the blood bank starts working correctly...

Have U ever...

In the name of God who granted us today. Have you ever felt, the cold and lifeless hand of an infant, gazed into their unblinking eyes, and observed the face of death, when masked in bittersweet innocence? Have you ever touched your dreams, and felt the simplistic joy, of feeling them become reality, only to abandon them, for reasons you cannot explain? Have you ever watched your family, who once shared the greatest of loves, suffer an unforgettable and unforgivable tragedy, that will slowly, painfully, and inevitably, tear them all apart? Do you know, firsthand, the evil that resides de

Is Education Creating Caste System?????

Submitted by chayan on
I read an article the other day by Wipro chairman Azim Premji stating that education system is creating caste system. Premji said that knowing or unknowingly todays education system is emphasising, aiding and encouraging the caste system. He also said that the process of education is diadvantageous in our country as there are many privileged students in our country, some more and some less just because of their background. Some have more facilities avaliable to them such as technology, learning material, guides etc..

With Big Hopes Comes Big Responsibility

Submitted by Jayesh on

After a Joyous, well organized and successful celebration of Sankalp 4th anniversary, the one thought that is constantly popping in my mind is: With big hopes comes big responsibility. In the span of 4 year Sankalp has grown from 4 to 4000, a group of student to youth and from a College to Bangalore. Sankalp was born with a dream and has shared it's dream with others. Today the dream of Sankalp is a dream of thousands of people. Sankalp has given the people the courage to dream and make their dream come true.

Today on my birth day about 45 minutes earlier i gave life a better chance.. I DONATED BLOOD :-) i think with that i might give life to atleast 3 people.. I had the idea of donating blood for a long time now, but i was waiting for the right time.. Today i thought it was tthe right time to donate and make my birth and the voluntary donation memorable.. I'm a really thin guy.. i thought looking at me the doctor would tell that i m not eligible to donate blood.. i had also on so many occasions heard from my relatives that i look thin and weak..

Does Life need to have a purpose?

Submitted by Jayesh on

AVERY young terminally ill girl wrote out a beautiful poem on her hospital bed. It ends with these simple lines: Life is not a race, do take it slower Hear the music, before the song is over. We spend hours recording music instead of listening to it live. We waste time capturing experiences on film, while we should be savouring the experiences. We are forever rushing to be some place, and when we reach there, it is rarely the place we wish to be! Is there a purpose to life? Is it to gain fame, success, and wealth? Do these acquisitions make us happy?

My Prayer to Thee

Submitted by pooja on
This is my prayer to thee My lord- Strike ,strike at the root of penury in my heart. Give me the strength lightly to bear my Joys and sorrows. Give me the strength to make my love Fruitful in service. Give me the strength never to disown the poor Or bend my knees before insolent might. Give me the strength to raise my mind High above daily trifles. And give me the strength to surrender My strength to Thy will with love (a poem from Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore)

uncondional love

Once there was a family. They were not very rich people and more than often they would be in a financially tight position. It was one such phase that was going on in there lives. It was also tough because their only 5 year old daughter was terminally ill and they couldn't do anything to get her adequate medical facilities or even save her life. Christmas was just around the corner and for days this girl Sam had been thinking that what she could give her mother as a present on Christmas. Today she was fanatically searching for something in the house while her mom had gone out shopping.
